About Hope Schrim

I am a licensed professional clinical counselor with 20 years experience in the mental health field. I earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Justice and Law (Criminology Focus), from The American University in Washington, D.C. and in 1997 earned a Master’s of Science degree in Community Counseling from Georgia State University. Since then, I have worked in crisis intervention, and as a private practice clinician and consultant. I am the owner of HHS Counseling and Consultation in Columbus, Ohio.

10+ years of my career have been spent specifically counseling First Responders. I have provided countless hours of service to Police, Fire and Dispatch Departments, with expertise in Annual Wellness Consultations, Critical Incident Debriefings, Individual/Couples Counseling, and a wide variety of Trainings on subjects such as Suicide Prevention, Sleep Health, Work/Life Balance, Resilience and Healthy Coping Strategies. I collaborate with Individuals, whole Departments, Detective Bureaus and Specialty Teams to provide education and training to address mental wellness and work/life balance.

I am passionate about my work, diligently educating and counseling clients to promote increased personal insight, strength in relationships, and improved resilience. I have had success in helping First Responders achieve greater levels of professional and personal satisfaction, as they navigate the unique challenges of their jobs.
